Who are HIW?
Hamilton Island is Australia’s favourite wedding destination, and Hamilton Island Weddings is a family owned and operated business based on Hamilton Island and has been with its current owners since 1994. We have a long standing and wonderful relationship with Hamilton Island Resort, and are responsible for organising every wedding held on both Hamilton and Dent Island’s.
What am I responsible for?
You’ll be responsible for creating amazing, stunning, artistic and above all timeless memories for our fantastic bridal couples on what is undoubtedly one of the most important days in their lives. (No pressure!)
You will be guiding our bridal couples from their first enquiry, right through the entire photographic experience, helping them decide what size and style of photography package will best suit their wedding day, photographing their special day, post processing & performing digital enhancement of your captured images and finally, assisting in the selection of the perfect wedding prints, canvases and albums.
How do I know I have the right stuff?
Are you “Faster than a speeding bullet!? More powerful than a locomotive!? And are able to leap tall buildings in a single bound!?” Plus do you have have at least 2 years experience shooting weddings, superior Lightroom and Photoshop skills? Are you an energetic, dynamic and outgoing person who can also sell snow to an Eskimo?… If the answer is yes, then you definitely have what it takes…
Oh, and you’ll also need to have your own full set of professional photography equipment including at least 2 camera bodies, a range of high quality various lenses, flash, back up equipment etc.. Full requirements can be discussed at a later date.

Sunrise Wedding Giveaway
In 2013 we partnered with the Sunrise program to give away a $50,000 dream wedding on Hamilton Island, which was hosted live on Sunrise at 8.30 in the morning. It set records for Sunrise and we all had an amazing time.

Karl’s Suit
In November last year our MD bought Karl’s suit for a donation of $6,500, which he later increased to $10,000. This money went to The White Ribbon Foundation to help raise awareness for the issue of violence against women.
